Keith New installed as new president of Angelina Rotary

Installation of the 2007-2008 officers and directors of the Angelina Rotary Club were held last Thursday at Crown Colony. The officers who direct the club in the upcoming year will be President Keith New; President-elect Todd Partin; President nominee Francine Tieperman; Secretary Carolyn Wilson and Treasurer Ronnie Herrington. The directors will be Alan Hayes, Jerry Hill, Carol Shaw, Tom Ramsey and Jackie Zimmerman.
Demetress Harrell, outgoing president, welcomed Rotarians and guests and Kenny Knous offered the prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Bert McKinney and the four way test was led by Larry Stanaland.
Following a delicious meal, the crowd was entertained with a hilarious video which introduced the new president, followed by the installation ceremony with Rotary Assistant District Governor Gig Langston presiding.
Ms. Harrell was then presented a parting gift from her fellow Rotarians as well as recognition of her past year of service to the club.
Ms. Harrell was also presented with the Paul Harris Fellow award. The club contributed a gift of $1,000 to the Annual Programs Fund in Ms. Harrell's name making her eligible for the award. In addition to a commemorative certificate, Harrell also received a Paul Harris Fellow pin, and a medallion.
