Pre-K registration slated for DISD

Diboll Independent School District (DISD) will be having registration for Pre-Kindergarten classes on Monday, July 16 through Wednesday, July 18 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the DISD Family Literacy Program building located at 100 Hines Street.

To qualify for Pre-Kindergarten, children have to be four-years-old on or before the first day of September.

Items that are necessary for registration are: shot records, birth certificate, social security and proof of residency in Diboll and proof of income.

The Angelina County and Cities Health District will be on hand administering vaccinations are needed.

DISD Family Literacy Center, in conjunction with the Diboll Primary School Pre-K registration, will also host a sign up for the Deep East Texas Council of Governments and Economic Development (DETCOG) Community Outreach Services.

Debra Hadnot will be on site from 1 -3 p.m. Monday - Wednesday, July 16-18, providing screenings for services.

Services available include: Texas Women's Health Program which provides low-income uninsured women between the ages of 18-44 with gynecological exams, related health screenings, education and counseling about women's health contraception and family planning; Food Stamp Program which helps individuals and families with little or no income buy nutritious food; Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) provides temporary financial assistance for needy families with children under 18; Medicaid which provides healthcare services for low-income children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with disabilities; Children's Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) which provides health insurance coverage for low-income children in the state of Texas (CHIP families may pay enrollment fees and co-payments for certain services); CHIP Prenatal which provides free health care to babies of low-income moms before and after birth.
