Funeral services for Juanita Dixon Young, 87, of Austin, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 12 noon in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Elton Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery. Mrs. Young was born April 10, 1920 in Angelina County, Texas, to Dora Alice (Nobles) and Jim Crowder Dixon, and died Saturday, July 7, 2007 in an Austin hospital. A lifetime resident of Lufkin, Mrs. Young had resided in Austin for the past 2 1/2 years. She retired from Lehman's Pipe and Steel following 19 years of service as Office Manager. She was a member of the Lufkin Garden Club, and enjoyed square dancing and playing cards. Mrs. Young was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Mack Warren of Austin; granddaughter, Laura Warren of Austin; sisters, Faye Stanfield, Jimmie C. Parker and Joy Parker, all of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Liddie and Wayne Nerren of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Yonnie Dixon of Pollok; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. P. "Snootie" Young; parents, Dora and Jim Dixon; brothers, Truben Dixon and Jack Dixon; sister-in-law, Dorothy Dixon; and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Stanfield, Roy Wise, Ed Parker and Allen "Sonny" Parker. Pallbearers will be Johnny Dixon, Mac Wise, Randy Nerren, Clay Parker, Cody Parker and Brad Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Young, Bob Young, Bill Young, David Young, Jim "Mutt" Allen, Richard Davis, Wayne Davis, Darrell Davis, John Davis and Ronnie Davis.
