NETTIE GOINS

May 21, 1915 - July 12, 2007

Nettie Mae Anderson Goins, 92, of Diboll, was born May 21, 1915, in Hoshall, Texas, the daughter of the late Sarah Frances Alexander and Chris C. Anderson. She passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at her residence in Diboll.

Services for Mrs. Goins were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2007, in the Lakeview Baptist Church with Reverend Roy Hall, Reverend Jacqueline Hannan and Reverend Charles Mettlen officiating. Interment followed in the Berry Cemetery.

Mrs. Goins was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Over the years, she had also held several jobs outside the home, including working as a waitress at the Pine Bough Restaurant and as a lumber puller for the Southern Pine Lumber Company. Mrs. Goins was an avid gardener. She was a charter member of Lakeview Baptist Church, and had lived in Diboll most of her life.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James W. "Jimmy," Sr., and Barbara Goins of Lufkin, Jerry M. and Glenda Goins of Diboll; daughters and sons-in-law, Oleta R. Hall, Sarah and Jose Mott, all of Diboll, Waynette and Lester Patterson of Lufkin, and Billie Jean and Orville Bryce of Diboll; daughter-in-law, Mildred Nell Goins of Diboll; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren; nineteen great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceding Mrs. Goins in death were her husband, Barney Goins, in 1956; two sons, Herman E. Goins and Benjamin C. Goins; son-in-law, Kenith M. Hall; and daughter-in-law, Linda Kay Hall Goins. Pallbearers were Mrs. Goins' grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers were her nephews.
