Doris J. "Dottie" Kendrick, 69, of Lufkin, was born July 28, 1937, in Carmona, Polk County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Ione (Fann) and Simon Peter Moulder.
Mrs. Kendrick passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Kendrick was a loving and giving person; she never met a stranger and was always helping others. She loved to sew, and took great pleasure in cooking for her large family and friends. She loved life and always made sure that her family came first ? raising four sons and giving them wonderful, loving memories of their times together. Mrs. Kendrick was retired from Dixon Furniture and GMAC, where she was a Finance Manager. She was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Randy Kendrick and Kelly Kendrick, both of Lufkin and Cody Kendrick of Leander; grandson, Justin Kelly Kendrick; brother, Larry "Pee Wee" Moulder of Diboll; brother and sister-in-law, Luther and Karen Moulder of Dickinson; sisters, Bettye Pipes of Corrigan and Hazel Warren of Rosenberg; sister and brother-in-law, Fayma and D.L. Burkes of Pasadena; sisters-in-law, Merle Moulder of Lufkin and Iris Moulder of Corrigan; brother-in-law, Clayton Hearn of Leggett; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members, including Angie Kendrick, Charlotte and Destiny Bowden.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kendrick was preceded in death by her husband, William Troy Kendrick in 2003; son, Terry Dean Kendrick; two sisters; and two brothers. Mrs. Kendrick¼s nephews will serve as pallbearers. Services for Mrs. Kendrick will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend James Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the Carmona Cemetery in Corrigan.
