Volleyball season is just around the corner

The Diboll Ladyjacks will begin practice for the upcoming season that is set to begin with a scrimmage on August 10 in Diboll.

"We are looking forward to an exciting year". Said head volleyball coach Pam Bass. "This past year, the team went to the play-offs again as they have done for the past several years. This is a tradition which is going to carry on."

Last years freshmen were district champs, with a lot of promise and several of the girls played Spring League and a couple of the girls play Club Volleyball. "This goes to show," Bass said, "that working to be the best is a top goal of the Lady Jacks. Hard work makes for better athletes."

Practice is set to begin August 6 at 9 a.m. Girls should report to the locker room where workout equipment will be issued and lockers assigned. The Monday work out will conclude at noon with the afternoon session from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Bass reminds the young ladies entering the ninth grade or those going into the 11th grade that new physicals are needed prior to work out on August 6. Also, if not a participant in athletic programs last year, a current physical is needed.

Joining Bass on the coaching staff again this year is Donna James along with four newcomers, Cassi Lenderman-Davis, Kasey Polk, Emily Breedlove and Leigh Ann Trotter. "These ladies come to us with a lot of experience and knowledge and I look forward to working with them". Bass said.
