Trio arrested and charged with six counts of burglary
Three suspects were arrested late Tuesday afternoon, July 31 and charged in connection with six auto burglaries, which occurred in the Deer Trace Subdivision in Diboll.
Eddie Canada, age 17, of Diboll, along with two juveniles were taken into custody by Diboll Police officers and charged with six counts of burglary, a Class A misdemeanor.
"We have recovered some of the property taken from the automobiles, but some of the items are still unaccounted for." Said Detective Brandan Lovell of the Diboll Police Department (DPD). Lovell added, "A break in the case led us to Canada, and with his assistance, we were able to locate his accomplices."
Canada was transported to the Angelina County Sheriff's Department following his arrest while the two juveniles were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Esther Barger and turned over to Juvenile Probation officials. Pending their action, the duo could face time at a Texas Youth Commission facility.
Lovell said, "We urge residents to secure their automobiles when exiting them, whether it be at home or away. Also, leaving valuables such as purses, phones, or money in plain sight is just too tempting for would-be thieves, so it just makes good practice to remove them completely by leaving items at home, securing them in the truck, or taking them with you."
