Memorial services will be held Sunday, August 12, 2007 for Smith L. "Sam" Minton, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Diboll with Rev. Rick Williams officiating.
Mr. Minton passed away July 31, 2007 at the age of 70.
Sam is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Jo Minton of Colmesneil; daughters, Debra Joyce Groover of Dayton, Nancy Ann Neely, of Houston, and Natalie Hightower of Lufkin; four stepchildren; brothers, Billy Minton, Copperas Cove and James Minton of Conroe; sisters, Louise Blake of Diboll, Joyce Nofsker of New Castle, PA, Jo Ann (Ivey) Grigson and Fran Mayo, both of Diboll; three grandchildren, Chris Minton, a member of the U. S. Army stationed in New Jersey, Bridget Groover of Dayton, and Taylor Weeks of Lufkin. Also surviving are four step-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Mr. Minton was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Jewel Boykin Minton and a daughter, Linda Renee Fancher.
