Graveside services for Margaret Christensen, 83, of Lufkin were held Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Mrs. Christensen was born September 29, 1923 in Carbon Hill, Alabama, to the late Zula (Trull) and Marcus Hill, and died Tuesday, August 7, 2007 in a local hospital.
A former resident of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Mrs. Christensen had lived in Lufkin for the past five years. She retired from the City of Orangeburg, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orangeburg.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Dora L. Renfroe of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Zunelle and John Bookhardt of Orlando, Florida; grandsons, Greg Bookhardt of Valdosta, Georgia, Kyle Bookhardt, currently serving with the U.S. Air Force in England, and Marcus J. Renfroe, Jr. of Lufkin; granddaughter and husband, Jessica D. and Rory Luke McGuire of Lufkin; and great-granddaughter, Alyssa Edwards of Virginia.
