DPD investigate rash of vandalism complaints

Citizens living within the city limits of Diboll have experienced a rash of acts of vandelism by 'egg throwing' experts.

Complaints from residents living on Hamner, Cypress and Booker streets started coming in on August 10 and continued since. Members of the Diboll Police Depart are now investigating a total of 10 at this time. Callers reported that eggs had been thrown at their property, mostly automobiles, causing hundreds of dollars in damage to the vehicles.

The incidents, which occur during the overnight hours, are considered criminal mischief, and actor or actors involved, will be charged with the offenses as such.

Police detective Brandan Lovell, urges residents to report any and all suspicious activity. "If you see any unusal activity, especially during the late night or early morning hours, you should report it by call the police department at 829-5586 immediately."
