Little known facts about the T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library: During the school year the library is open until 7 p.m. on Monday nights beginning the Monday following Labor Day. Patrons must present a library card to the circulation desk in order to check out a book or use the computer. To get the first library card is free replacements cost $5. Only parent's can apply for cards for children under 17. Children under age 12 cannot be left in the library unattended. The library has free notary service available to the public. Books are available in large print and we have audio books for the visually impaired. Inspirational books are also available in large print. Books, audio books, and videos are available in Spanish as well.
Our Library is collecting care package items for Angelina County soldiers in Iraq. These items will be distributed through the "Because We Care Sponsorship" a project of the America Legion Auxiliary, Unit 13. Some of the items needed are: new or used paperback books, magazines (no religious materials please), CDs, DVDs, crossword puzzle/sudoku books, batteries, small clip-on book lights, small electronic games/video, playing cards/dice/travel board games, blank greeting cards, packing supplies, snack or quart size baggies, flea collars to put around their ankles to keep the fleas off, travel size Kleenex, packs of gum, pudding/fruit cups, and the list goes on. Beginning August 1, 2007 anyone with an old fine can sign-up at the circulation desk for the fine amnesty program. In this program, participant's names will be put on a call list for volunteer work that the library needs done. For each hour that is volunteered, the participant will receive a ($2) coupon to use toward their fine. You must be age 13 and up to participate in this program. Parents can work for younger children.
The History Center and Humanities Texas invite you to experience Riders on the Orphan Trains, a multimedia presentation on the orphan trains and their young riders, with Alison Moore and Phil Lancaster, on Thursday evening, September 6 at 7 p.m. Humanities scholar and author Alison Moore and musician Phil Lancaster will present a one-hour multimedia program, combining literature, music, and audio visual components based on research at the Orphan Train Heritage Society of America, Inc. The program is designed for general audiences of all ages and continues with a question and answer session and dialogue between presenters and audience. Come join them for this special presentation, made possible in part by a grant from Humanities Texas, the state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Library closing: The Library will be closed Saturday, September 1 and Monday, September 3, 2007 for the Labor Day Holiday.
Winter Schedule: Beginning Monday, September 10, 2007 the Library 's winter schedule will be Monday 9:00-7:00, Tuesday - Friday 9:00-5:30, and Saturday 10:00-2:00.
