6-year-old Olivia Fannon, who also took part in the Meet the Jack activities and has been named cheerleader mascot for the year. Olivia is the daughter of Gary and Kara Fannon of Diboll.
A capacity crowd filled the gymnasium at Diboll High School last Friday night for the annual "Meet the Jacks" night. Originally slated to take place at Lumberjack Stadium, the activities were moved to the gym because of rain.
Athletic Director Gary Martel, serving as master of ceremonies, introduced all students participating in school athletics, plus members of the band and their director, Billy Aker, cheerleading squads and Dazzler members and their sponsors, and much, much more.
Martel also informed those in attendance of the various activities planned for the upcoming school year. He urged everyone to support the efforts of the students and all involved by attending as many events as possible. He also noted that efforts to raise funds to secure the broadcast of Friday night Lumberjack games as well as the Coach's Corner airing twice weekly.
