Oliver L. (Dick) Holt, passed away Saturday September 8, 2007 at a Nacogdoches hospital.
Services were held Monday, September 10, 2007, Mangum Funeral Home Chapel in Center with Bro. Wes Hall and Bro. Charles Williams officiating. Burial followed at Old Salem Cemetery in Center.
He was born January 23, 1928 in Shelby County to Parents, Lawrence Augustus "Gus" and Johnnie Mae (Hanks) Holt. He worked as a carpenter in Shelby County for many years. He was a member of the Old Salem Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Johnnie Mae Holt and brother, Woodrow Holt.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Verniece (Luman) Holt of Center; children, David Lee Holt and wife, Pam of Lufkin, Lawrence Ray Holt of Lufkin, Deborah Sue Holt Jones and husband Thomas of Lufkin and Benny Joe Holt and wife, Jennifer of Center; grandchildren, Ricky Holt, Shauna Rivers, Cory Holt and Kaylyn, Christopher Jones and Aaron Jones, Brandon and Sheldon Holt; numerous great -grandchildren; four sisters, Laraves Landrum of Nacogdoches, Lillie Beile Horn of the Bland Lake Community, Margaret Lynn and husband, Thomas of the Neuville Community and Cleo Willoughby of Shelbyville.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Graves, John Halstead, John Halstead Jr., Jeb Shofner, Johnny Shofner and Randy Folsom.
