Grady M. Campbell, 86, of Lufkin, was born May 15, 1921, in Alto, Texas, the son of the late Suda (Smith) and Oscar Campbell. He passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at his residence.
Services for Mr. Campbell were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Charlie W. Fenner and Dr. Andrew G. Pittman officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Campbell was a retired machinist for Lufkin Industries, following more than 40 years of service. He was a graduate of Lufkin High School, and lived in Lufkin most of his life. Mr. Campbell served as a volunteer fireman in Lufkin for several years. He was a longtime member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Nicar of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Jamie and Laura Nicar of Lufkin; grandson, Kelly Nicar of Lufkin; great-grandson, Nick; and two nephews and one niece.
Preceding Mr. Campbell in death was his wife, Bernice Campbell, in 2000.
