John Thomas (J.T.) Odom Jr., 82, of Lufkin, was born Oct. 28, 1924, in Greenville, Texas, to the late John T. Odom and Irene (Cody) Odom, and passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, in Memorial Hospital.
Services for Mr. Odom will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Klund officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Gwen Odom; children and their spouses, John T. Odom III and wife Jan Odom of Port Charlotte, Fla., Michael Odom of Euless, Rebecca and Randy Taylor of Alvarado, and Melinda Sauer of Euless, Michael and Becky Baggett, and Connie and Robert Carr, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, John T. Odom IV. and wife Sarah, Christopher Taylor, Clifton Taylor, Megan Davis and husband Damon, Amber Odom, John Cody Odom, Keith Chenault and wife Krissy, Jason Chenault and wife Betty, Kristin Ehrenfeld, Cayla Smith, Chris, Casey and Chance Carr, Jessica McMullen and husband Tyson, and Lacey Searcy and husband Chris; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Veta Rowin Barr of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
