Annual homecoming to be held at Mount Zion Cemetery Oct. 6
Arrive early this year as the dedication of our historical marker is scheduled for 11 a.m. Ben and Ellen Pyle have worked tirelessly in getting approval for the marker. They have also headed the effort for the dedication program.
Plan on lunch about 12 noon, followed by a short business meeting, and spend the remainder of tghe day visiting with family and friends.
The cemetery looks great, thanks to the hard work of our maintenance team. The board of directors has identified the major improvement goal for next year as a new metal roof for the pavilion. This is a costly effort, but it is needed.
If you are unable to attend this year, please send your contributions to Mount Zion Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 93, Apple Springs, TX 75926.
Remember you can reserve your burial plot by making a "pre-payment" donation of $100 for the first year's maintenance upkeep of a new grave. A granite marker inscribed with your name will be placed at the plot you reserve. This will insure that the place you want to be buried will not be taken when the time comes.
Terry M. Carlton, President, along with the other members of the board of directors, hope to see you on Saturday, October 6, 2007.
