CLEON MURRY

April 2, 1929 - Sept. 22, 2007

Cleon Murry, 78, of Diboll, was born April 2, 1929, in Trinity County, Texas, the son of the late Allie (Thompson) and Frank Murry. He passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at Trinity Mission of Diboll.

Services for Mr. Murry were held Monday, September 24, 2007, in the First Baptist Church of Diboll with Reverend Jeff Robinson, Reverend C.G. "Buster" Gregg and Reverend Gary Fannon officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Murry retired in 1994 from Temple-Inland after 43 years of service. He had also been a pasture rider for the Stovall Creek Hunting Club. Mr. Murry was a 50-year Mason, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Diboll. He was a devoted family man, who loved his wife of 55 years, Charlene, his children and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Murry of Diboll; his children and their spouses, Cindy and Reggy Saxon of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Bobby Murry of Diboll, Kaye and Jay Wyatt of Diboll, Randall Murry of Diboll, Mickey and Ramona Murry of Shelbyville, and Carole and Rodney Cheshire of Diboll; thirteen grandchildren, Melissa Saxon Cobb, B.J. Murry, J.J. Wyatt, Chris Murry, Brittany Murry, Chaney Wyatt, Jayce Murry, Heath Murry, Kade Murry, Cameron Cheshire, Mickenzie Murry and Kendall Murry; seven great grandchildren, Slade Saxon, Caiden Murry, Madison Murry, Chloe Wyatt-Chittum, Nathaniel Martinez, Sawyer Murry and Mason Murry; brother, Vernon Murry of Needville; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceding Mr. Murry in death were his grandson, Derek Murry, three sisters and one brother.

Pallbearers were grandsons, B.J. Murry, Chris Murry, J.J. Wyatt, Jayce Murry; and also Joe Bearden and Donnie Kee. Honorary pallbearers weregrandsons, Heath Murry, Kade Murry, Cameron Cheshire; brothers-in-law: W.J. Bearden and Lon L. Helton; best friend: James Bell; and James McGuire, Gene Noble and Jeff Bearden.
