Mass of Christian Burial for Benito Gonzalez Sr., 45, of Corrigan, Texas was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 in the St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Corrigan, with Father Clifton Labbe, Father Victor Hamon and Deacon Jose Vitella officiating. A rosary was held in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007. Interment followed in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan.
Mr. Gonzalez was born December 22, 1961 in Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico and passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 in Lufkin.
He was employed by Fleetwood Transportation in Diboll, Texas as a truck driver.
His father, Jouaquin Gonzalez, daughter, Maria Gonzalez and nephew, Valente Gonzalez, precedes him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Agapita Gonzalez of Corrigan; son, Benito Gonzalez Jr. of Corrigan; daughters, Guadalupe Gonzalez and Crystal Gonzalez both of Corrigan; mother, Guadalupe Ibarra of Mexico; brothers, Juan Gonzalez Ibarra, Benjamin Gonzalez Ibarra, Jose Angel Gonzalez Ibarra and Margarito Gonzalez Ibarra, all of Mexico and Miguel Gonzalez of Austin; sisters, Manuela Chavez of Austin and Leonarda Gonzalez Ibarra of Mexico; father-in-law, Catarino Medina Garcia of Mexico; mother-in-law, Santos Cortez Diaz of Mexico.
