Carl "Trey" Allen Mettlen, III, 22, of Diboll, born April 17, 1985, in Lufkin, passed away Friday, September 28, 2007, in a local hospital.
Services for Trey were held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2007, in the Prairie Grove Baptist Church in Diboll, with Charles Ray Mettlen officiating. Interment followed in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Trey was a loving son, brother and grandson. He was employed with Georgia Pacific, and was a hard worker.
Survivors include his mother, Gina Sosa of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers, Thomas Mettlen and Aaron Mettlen of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Mandy Mettlen of Lufkin; aunt and uncle, Sheila and Lonnie Lowe of Diboll; uncles and aunts, Lewis and Lynn Mettlen, Tommy and Cassandra Mettlen, all of Corrigan, and Jerry and Misty Mettlen of Lufkin; uncle, John Mettlen of Diboll; grandfather, Carl Mettlen, Sr. of Lufkin; grandmother, Vonetta Alsbrooks of Corrigan; grandparents, Gary and Alpha Sanders of Dallas; special cousins, Jennifer, Eric and Melanie Sanford, all of Diboll; numerous other cousins, aunts, uncles and other family members.
Trey is also survived by his friends at Georgia Pacific in Camden; his girlfriend, Stephany Madden of Diboll; and friend, Lydia Johnson of Diboll.
Trey was preceded in death by his father, Carl Allen Mettlen, Jr. Pallbearers will be Eric Sanford, John Mettlen, Cody Mettlen, Clayton Hargis, Jason Patterson, John Allen and Lonnie Lowe, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Sanford, Roberto Estrada, Steve Carter and Sergio Estrada.
