Feeling a little down this week? Are allergies getting the best of you? Not sure what to get for that nagging cough at bedtime or that runny nose after cutting fresh grass? With flu season in full swing Diboll residents are heading into their local Brookshire Brothers pharmacy for some fast relief. If over the counter medications is what you're looking for or if you have a prescription, Debbie Langston can point you in the right direction.
Brookshire Brothers welcomes a new pharmacist to their Diboll store. Debbie Langston, RPH, comes to Diboll after transferring from the Brookshire's New Caney store. She has been a licensed pharmacist for over 24 years and loves what she does. Originally from Ohio Debbie graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor of Science. She knew she'd always wanted to work in the medical field because she loved to help people but was somewhat squeamish around the sight of blood. She found her niche in life when she began working as a pharmacy clerk and shortly after that she perused a career as a pharmacist. As a Brookshire Brothers pharmacist some of her duties will involve filling prescriptions, checking for drug interactions, reviewing drug regimes, finding out if the patient has any allergies, prescription counseling, advising patient of what medication is being prescribed and for what condition the medication is prescribed for, recommend over the counter drugs that won't interfere with prescription medicine and consult with primary doctors to determine what prescription drug therapy is best for the patient. Langston is diligent about spending time with patients who need counseling on how to administer medication to their children or to themselves. She is totally committed to the care and well being of patients and their families.
How true the saying, "birds of a feather flock together," because Langston's husband of over 10 years is also a pharmacist. Husband, Jeffrey, is employed by the Lufkin Brookshire Brother's Gaslight store. They have two children together, son Jacob 15 and nine-year-old son Samuel. Currently Langston holds pharmacist license in 4 states, New Mexico, Texas, Ohio and California. When asked if she missed Ohio Langston replied, "I've lived all over but what I do miss about Ohio is their 4 seasons and homes with basements." Now that Langston has gotten her feet settled and planted at Brookshire Brother's pharmacy in Diboll she offers and invitation to all. "Come by and visit, we will take good care of you and provide you with the best customer service," said Langston as she sent a reminder of the $20.00 coupon advertised in the Free Press newspaper and advised that Brookshire Brothers also does prescription price matching.
