Christmas for Kids drive underway in city of Diboll

Members of the Diboll Police Department are sponsoring its annual Christmas for Kids toy drive. The department is asking for donations of toys and or monetary donations.

To date, the department has helped more than 300 families and given to over 1000 kids, from age's infant to high school, since they started their drive, 10 years ago.

Toys can be dropped off at the Police Department, Dollar Tree (by Belk's department store in Lufkin), Family Dollar in Diboll and Dollar General in Diboll.

For questions, toys that need to be picked up or if you know of a family that needs assistance this Christmas, contact Chief Kent Havard, at (936) 829-5586.

For families in need of assistance with Christmas toys, the department will need to know the sex of the child, their ages, addresses and phone numbers.

Currently the department has accumulated a larger array of stuffed animals for children but all gifts are welcomed, wrapped or unwrapped.

For wrapped gifts please note if the gift is for a boy or girl and age group. The toys will be delivered to families on Friday, December 21, 2007.
