SYBIL WEATHERSBY

Aug. 10, 1922 - Nov. 14, 2007

Sybil Weathersby, 85, a resident of Diboll since 1970, was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Emory, Texas, the daughter of the late Bertha Lee (Courtney) and Luther Barney.

She passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at her home.

Services for Mrs. Weathersby were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Turner officiating. Interment followed in the Wheeler Cemetery.

Mrs. Weathersby was of the Jehovah Witness faith. She was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Mrs. Weathersby retired from Wyatt's Cafeteria in 1990. She loved her flowers and her animals.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Weathersby of Diboll; sister, Dorothy (Frank) Marker of Western Grove, Ark.; five daughters, Bertha (Preston) Dunn of Elizabeth, Ark., Doris (J.E.) Patrick of Hazlehurst, Miss., Betty (Carl) Henderson of Wesson, Miss., Bonnie (William) Sickle of Mountain Home, Ark., and Lois Barnett and fiance' Dennis Beeson of Diboll; one son, Melvin E. (Jennifer) Hall of Diboll; stepdaughter, Gail (Norman) Odom of Hazlehurst; stepson, Glen C. Weathersby of Tennessee; 33 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mrs. Weathersby in death were her parents, one daughter, one brother, two grandchildren, and one niece. Pallbearers were James Patrick, David Patrick, Roger Grubbs, Heath Rials, Hank Grubbs, James Deaton, and Luke Rice.
