Happenings The annual Christmas party of the Angelina County Genealogy Society will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Lufkin BBQ on South Chestnut, Monday, December 17. Officers for the coming year will be introduced and installed by Sam Griffin, Sr. Officers include Charles Ham, president; Cindy McMullen, vice president; June Moffet, treasurer; and Anita Crona, secretary. The meal is Dutchtreat and visitors are invited to attend. Call 634-3753 for more information. Members will tell interesting stories of their research on their family trees. Prairieview A&M alumni will host a scholarship dance Friday, December 28 from 6 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. at the Lottie & Arthur Temple Civic Center, 601 Dennis St, Diboll. Admission is $15 per person in advance and $20 per person, at the door. Proceeds will he used to provide a scholarship for two Lufkin-area high school graduates to attend Prairie + View A & M University. Tickets go on sale soon for The Angelina Arts Alliance production of The Piano Men…Starring Jim Witter, live on the Temple Theater stage on the Angelina College campus one night only. The show is Saturday, January 19 at 7:30 pm. Tickets prices are $18- $25, and go on sale Monday, December 17 at the Temple Theater box office (936-633-5454). The Piano Men is a musical celebration of the 1970s from the songs of beloved songsmiths, Billy Joel and Elton John.
