Daughters of American Republic entertained by college guitarists

Entertaining at the December 4th meeting of the Anthony Smith Chapter NSDAR at Pinecrest Retirement Center were "Four Guitars" led by Larry Greer of the Angelina College Music Dept. Pictured from left are Greer, Anthony Rogers, Kristi Carroll, Ian Tishberg, and Jaime Heredia
The Anthony Smith Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution met December 4, at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Pinecrest Retirement Center, Lufkin.

Regent Patsy McGill called the meeting to order and welcomed members and guests.

The Ritual was led by Regent McGill and Chaplain Virginia Welch. The Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. and Texas flags and the American's Creed were led by Harriot Whiddon. Eloise Richardson read the President General's message from the Daughter's of the American Revolution newsletter.

Members present included Elma Alexander, Ruth Barlow, Betty Bryant, Nancy Cumbie, Dorothy Hale, Elizabeth Jenkins, Patsy McGill, Dorothy Owen, Maurine Parker, Frances Peavy, Eloise Richardson, Dana Schulze, Rachel Summy, Sara Jane Thames, Joann Townsend, Cheryl Tucker, Virginia Welch, Harriot Whiddon and Polly Young. Guests present included: Joy Coble, Johnnie Davis, Ruth Grant, Nancy Hamilton, and Sarah Beth Hogan.

After a brief business meeting members and guests were treated to a musical program by the "Four Guitars" led by Larry Greer from the Angelina College Music Department.

Hostesses for the meeting were: Elizabeth Jenkins, LaNell Johnson-Marsellos and Cheryl Tucker.

The next meeting will be February 5 at 2 p.m. in the parlor of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, Lufkin following refreshments at 1:30.
