Nettle Beatrice Carr

Nettie Beatrice Carr, 94, of Diboll, was born June 25, 1913, in Buffalo, Texas, the daughter of the late Ida Camile (Owens) and James Fleming Neely.

She passed away Monday, December 3, 2007, in a local hospital. Mrs. Carr was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, as well as a wonderful homemaker. Her entire life was devoted to her family and to raising her three sons. Mrs. Carr was also a talented quilter.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles D. and Wanda Jo Carr of Etoile; daughter-in-law, Patricia Carr of West Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren, Terry Carr of Diboll, Suzanne Lay of West Monroe, Louisiana and Mark Carr of Alexandria, Louisiana; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Carr in 1 972; sons, James Carr in 1 975 and Riley E. Carr in 2000; and sisters, Lena Ivy and Annie White.

Services for Mrs. Carr were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
