John Thomas Halsell

Funeral services for John Thomas Halsell, 60, of Lufkin were held Monday, December 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Daryl Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Whitehouse Cemetery under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 AF&AM.

Mr. Halsell was born October 29, 1947 in Lufkin to Carl Halsell and Lena Mae (Jimerson) Halsell, and died Friday, December 7, 2007,

Mr. Halsell was employed by Lufkin Industries for 29 years where he served in various departments including machinist, safety, mailroom and security. He was a member of Keltys Baptist Church and a member of Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 AF&AM.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie (Jones) Halsell; daughter, Anna Taylor and husband, James Taylor of Katy; son, Brian Halsell of Conroe; 1 granddaughter; 1 grandson; brothers, Jesse Halsell of Burney, California, Ernie Halsell and wife Sharon of Magnolia and Steve Halsell of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Betty Halsell of Lufkin and Alice Halsell of Diboll, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Lena Mae (Jimerson) Halsell; brothers, Carl James Halsell, Wayne Halsell and Joe Halsell; motherin law, Mattie Lois Jones.

Pallbearers were Bowden Simpson, Charles Jones, Charles Ray Jones, Mike Berquist, Ed Jones and Jack Green. Honorary pallbearer will be Cecil Primrose.
