Holiday baseball camp set for Lufkin
      The 2007 Holiday Baseball Camp for youngsters ages 8 through 18 will be held Dec. 29 and 30 at Angelina College, 3500 S. First St. in Lufkin. Chris Smith, Los Angeles Dodgers scout and former coach at Cal State Fullerton and Loyola Marymont, will direct the camp.

Jack golf tournaments on
      The Diboll Lumberjacks' and Ladyjacks' golf tournaments have been scheduled for March and entry forms have been mailed to area schools. The boys tournament will be March 3 and the girls tournament will be March 17. Both are at Neches Pines Golf Course. Tee-off at bouth tourneys is at 8:30 a.m.

     Trey Maddux, of Kingwood killed this doe on Thanksgiving weekend while visiting with his grandparents, Shirley White of Diboll and Doug and Patsy Maddux of Lufkin. He is the son of Douglas and Lisa Maddux of Kingwood.

     Congratulations to Joe David Goins of Diboll, who shot this impressive 11-point, 18-inch inside spread buck. The total weight of the animal was 160 pounds. The deer was harvested from the Buttermilk Club at a distance of 75 yards with a 25-06 Remington rifle on December 04, 2007.
