The Diboll Free Presss will close for Christmas at noon on Christmas Eve and be closed all day Christmas Day. The newspapear will reopen as usual on December 26.

First United Methodist Church, at 401 S. Hines Street, invites the public to participate in their Christmas Eve service. The service featuring carols, candles and communion, begins at 5 p.m.

Prairieview A&M alumni will host a scholarship dance Friday, December 28 from 6 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. at the Lottie & Arthur Temple Civic Center, 601 Dennis St, Diboll. Admission is $15 per person in advance and $20 per person, at the door. Proceeds will he used to provide a scholarship for two Lufkin-area high school graduates to attend Prairie View A & M University. Tickets are now on sale for The Angelina Arts Alliance production of The Piano Men, starring Jim Witter, live on the Temple Theater stage on the Angelina College campus one night only.

The show is Saturday, January 19 at 7:30 pm.

Tickets prices are $18-$25, and are available at the Temple Theater box office (936-633-5454). Box office hours are weekdays noon to 5:30 pm. Show sponsor is Goodwin-Lasiter, Inc./Scott & Strong, Architects. Season sponsors are First Bank & Trust/East Texas and Temple-Inland.
