Lottie Mae Burns Reece

Lottie Mae Burns Reece, 79, of Lufkin, was born August 31, 1 928, in San Augustine County, Texas, the daughter of the late Ollie (Evans) and Bourbon Burns. She passed away on Thursday, December 1 3, 2007, in a Lufkin hospital. Mrs. Reece was a retired Licensed Vocational Nurse for Woodland. Heights Medical Center. She was also a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister: Mrs. Reece was a member of the Church of Christ, and had resided in Lufkin most of her life.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Elton and Donna Reece of Lufkin; grandsons, Dwayne Reece of Lufkin, Chad Reece and wife, Angie, of Huntington; step-grandchildren, Danna Theriault and. Crystal Mote; daughter-in-law, Pam Reece of Lufkin; four great grandchildren, Cody, Késlie, Ashlyn and Chandler; sisters, Marie McGee of San Augustine, Octavia Belt of Alto and Emma Lue Martin of Chireno; brothers, Alvin Burns, Punk Burns, both of San Augustine, James Burns of Etoile, and Jesse Burns of Palestine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Preceding Mrs. Reece in death was her husband, Charles Reece, in 1987.

Services for Mrs. Reece will be held at 1 0:00 a.m., Sunday, December 16, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Huey Nixon officiating. Interment will follow in the Runnels Cemetery in San Augustine County. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
