Jonnie M. Denby

Jonnie M. Denby, 71, of Lufkin, was born December 26, 1935, in Diboll, Texas, the daughter of the late Irene (Chalker) and James Thomas Hutson. She passed away on Thursday, December 1 3, 2007, in a Lufkin nursing facility.

Ms. Denby was a former customer service representative in retail sales. She was also a homemaker and a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Homer United Pentecostal Church, and had lived in Lufkin most of her life.

Survivors include her daughter, LaVonda Loyce Hutson of Lufkin; son, LaShon Lance Laird of Las Vegas; brothers and sisters-in-Jaw, Bobby L. and Polly Hutson of Diboll, Alvin L. "Bucky" and Nellie Hutson of Corrigan; sister, Alvi L. Bounds of Spring; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and special cousin, Betty Powell.

Preceding Ms. Denby in death were her parents and her brother, Tillman Hutson.

Services for Ms. Denby will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 16, 2007, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Reverend Ronnie Frankens and Reverend Elzine Strong officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel.
