May 10 ticket touts nine locals

Nine men are seeking four seats on the Diboll City Council while five men have filed for three spots on the Diboll school board as the city's women decided to take a pass on running for office this year.

The city council features three two-year and one oneyear term expiring. Filing for the two-year terms were incumbents Gandy Stubblefield, Fred Mitchell and Don Hendrick along with Gary Jones, Lewis Ivey and Gary Mike Smith.

Incumbent Bryan Wilson has filed for the one-year term as have Larry Cook and Charles Chatman.

In the school board race, incumbents Trey Wilkerson and Chuck Mann will be challenged by, Jimmy Metland, Gary Hurley and Diboll Police Chief Kent Havard. Incumbent Sandy Hendrick did not file for another term.

In both the school board race and the council two-year term race, the three highest vote-getters are elected. In the one-year city race, high man wins, even if no one gains a majority.
