Cebern L. Bryan

Funeral services for Cebern L. Bryan, 87, of Beaumont were held Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Concord Baptist Church with Brother Louie Lawson and Jessie Ray Hornsby officiating. Interment followed in the Concord Cemetery.

Mr. Bryan was born September 5, 1920 in San Augustine County, Texas to the late Maggie (Hensarling) and Lee "Dude" Bryan, and died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at his reidence.

Mr. Bryan had resided in Beaumont most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War as an anti-aircraft gunner, and retired from Mobil Oil following 30 years of service as a pipefitter. Mr. Bryan had been a deacon at Concord Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Evie Bryan of Beaumont; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Judy Atwood and Vernon and Nadine Atwood, all of Zavalla; sisters-in-law, Sarah McChensey and Marie Parker, both of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Jeanette Bryan; one brother; and five sisters.

Pallbearers were Shane Atwood, Shaun Atwood, David Minter, Wayne Atwood, Vernon Atwood and Jessie Ray Hornsby.
