Lumberjacks make strong showing in boot camp

      Sports EditorRecently the Diboll Lumberjacks have been going through, what Head Football Coach Gary Martel calls the "Lumberjack Maker Program." The program is more commonly known to the athletes as boot camp, which the Lumberjack head man clearly has designed with the rest of the coaching staff to build up the Lumberjacks in the competitive arena.

      Western Oklahoma is like no other place in the world. t is hot in the summer with the temperature often going above the 100 degree mark. The winter months often see that same temperature reach below freezing. It is almost dry during the entire year. Even so there are people who would not leave it for all of the rest of the world.

Jacks headed for postseason after impressive week

      After an 11 year absence from the Class 3A Playoffs in Baseball the Diboll Lumberjacks are ready to make some noise and take a run at the postseason after a dominating week in District 20. The Jacks were able to clinch the third spot in the district behind Hudson and Carthage, sending all three schools to the show.

      Diboll is coming off their final preparations for the Class 3A Region III Track and Field Meet this weekend in Humble, TX. The Diboll runners and field competitors that qualified for the regional meet competed in the Regional Qualifier Meet in Hemphill.

Lady Jacks close year on high note

      The Diboll Lady Jacks wrapped up their 2008 season this past Friday night in front of a home crowd at Lady Jack Field. For the Lady Jacks the victory gave them an overall winning record to wrap up the season 14-13-2, allowing the Lady Jacks to close the year on a high note.
