Joe Drinkard, Jr., 68, of Diboll, was born June 27, 1939, in Angelina County, Texas, and he passed away Monday,May 26, 2008 in a Houston hospital.

Mr. Drinkard was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and was retired from Equipment Sales. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife, ShirleyWilliams Drinkard of Diboll; son and daughter-in-law, Trey and Chris Drinkard of Oklahoma; daughter arid son-inlaw, Tracy and Todd Eldred of Oklahoma; son, Justin Drinkard of Diboll; 5 grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family members.

Mr. Drinkard was preceded in death by his parents, Trudie (McDonald) and Joe Drinkard, Sr.; brother, Gene Drinkard and nephew, Randy Drinkard.

Graveside services for Mr. Drinkard were held at 10:00 a.m.Thursday, May 29, 2008, in the Sand Flat Cemetery, Dr.Walter Futch officiated.
