Richard Gary Hendrick
Memorial services for Richard Gary Hendrick, 66, of Lufkin and formerly of Diboll, were held June 14, 2008 in the St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church.
He was born Feb. 21, 1942 in El Dorado, Ark., and died Thursday, June 12, in a local hospital.
He and his wife owned and operated Diboll Pharmacy and Hendrick's Pharmacy of Lufkin. He was a registered pharmacist. Recently, he continued his pharmacy profession at Abeldt's Pharmacy. He was a charter member of the Diboll Rotary Club and served as president. He was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award. He served as president of the Diboll Jaycees, and served on the city council of Diboll. He was a longtime member of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister, church treasurer, and a member of the Vestry.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Sue Hendrick; son, Richard Alan Hendrick of Lufkin; daughter, Dortha Lynn Jackson and son-inlaw, Stephen Jackson of Laredo; grandchildren, Paul Jackson and Charlotte Jackson, both of Laredo; mother, Enid Thurston of Houston; brothers, Max Ill and MaDonna Hendrick of Houston, Dr. Edward and Jeannie Hendrick of Fort Collins, Colo.; sisterin law, Betty White and husband Ron of Lufkin; niece, Shey Fudge and husband Jace of Austin; nephew, Bronson Glover and wife Ashley of Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Dortha Dillon of Diboll; sisters-in-law, Patricia Garrett and husband Robert of Alma, Ark. and Billie and husband Bill of Van Buren, Ark.; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Max Hendrick, Jr.; father-inlaw, Truman Moore; and brother-in-law, Truman Moore Jr.
