Mitchell to be sworn to council after election

Fred Mitchell outpolled Gary Mike Smith in the Saturday, June 21, runoff nonelection for a place on the Diboll City Council. The runoff became a nonevent after Smith withdrew from the race Monday, June 16. The city did not release that information until late in the afternoon of Tuesday, June 17, after the Diboll Free Press June 18 edition already was on the press. More...

After last week's surprising revelation that Diboll Lumberjack Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Gary Martel would be moving to role of Diboll I.S.D.
