Flournoy honored with Salute to Excellence Award

COLLEGE STATION - Texas 4-H honored the volunteer service of Cecilia Flournoy with a Salute to Excellence Award during its annual Roundup last week on the Texas A&M University campus.

Flournoy was praised for her leadership over more than 16 years as the Diboll 4-H club manager in Angelina County. She has been a "benchmark" for other leaders to emulate.

She has coordinated the club's Diboll Belt Bash, a vital fundraiser for the club's activities. She was cited for developing the Angelina County 4-H swine program, one of the largest divisions of the Angelina County Youth Fair.

Roundup this year attracted more than 2,900 4-H members, parents and volunteers, and celebrated the 100th anniversary of Texas 4-H, a part of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. Texas 4- H engages more than 640,000 young people in an array of pursuits aimed at learning leadership, citizenship and life skills.
