Bobby Epperly Sr. Sr. Services for Bobby Epperly Sr., 76, of Huntington, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Eddy Roberts and Bro. Brian Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery. He was born April 18, 1932, in Gatewood, W.V., and died Sunday, July 13, at his residence. He was retired from the Angelina County Sheriff 's Department, and the Courts of Angelina County, having served as bailiff for Judge David Wilson for many years. He served his country with the Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Epperly of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Jr. and Brenda Epperly of Huntington; daughter and son-inlaw, Brenda and Richard Hall of Tyler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Sam Holbrook, Linda and Harold Beaty, all of Huntington, W.V., and Rose and Roger Chaffins of Ceredo, W.Va.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles and Donna Blankenship of Huntington and John and Pat Mullins of Pollok; stepdaughter, Donna Spicer of Huntington, stepson and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Nancy Vanover of Yakima, Wash.; stepsons, Earl Vanover of Phoenix, Ariz.,and Donald Spicer of Ennis; three grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Madelyn Epperly; wife of 36 years, Delcie; and stepson, Chris Vanover. Expressions of sympathy in Mr. Epperly's memory may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 S. Raguet, Lufkin, Texas 75904. Pallbearers will be Bobby Blankenship, Bobby Guthery, Henry Williams, Robert Green, John Cheney and John Mullins. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Angelina County Sheriff 's Department. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5- 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home. |
