Martha Davis

Graveside services for Martha Davis, 79, of Diboll, were held Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, in the Whitehouse Cemetery, under the direction of Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.

She was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Lynch, Ky., the daughter of the late Hanna (Bolin) and Sidney Baker, and she died Saturday, Aug. 2, in a local hospital.

She was a loving mother and homemaker, and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Cecil and Stella Davis of Blacky, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Cletta Mae and Thomas Vick of Diboll; grandchildren, Angela Vick, Veronica Hamilton, Cathleen Jones, Byron Davis, Clifton Davis and Jackie Davis; and a number of great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Davis; and two sons, Clayton Lee Davis and Claude David Davis.
