Graveside services for Garvis Nell Poe Edwards, 72, of Lufkin, were held Monday, August 4, 2008, in the Gann Cemetery under the direction of Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home, Lufkin..

She was born Aug. 2, 1936, in Angelina County, Texas, to Nellie K. (Allen) and Jeff Poe. She died Saturday, Aug. 2, in a Lufkin nursing facility

She was retired from Lufkin Industries, where she was employed as a welder, following 23 years of service. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed welding, and loved to be around her family. She was of the Pentecostal faith, and had lived in the Lufkin area all her life.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Damien Young of Lufkin; three grandchildren, Dortha Pina and husband, Daniel, Jeremy Parrott and Cody Young; two greatgrandchildren, Daniel Pina Jr., and JáLynn Pina; sister and brother-in-law, Jo Beth and Joe Arriola of Lufkin; former husband, Steve Edwards of Pollok; as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives

Pallbearers were Daniel Pina, Don Edwards, Von Edwards, Sammy Goldberg, Jerry Poe, and Jerry Poe, Jr.
