Pearce Wayne Norris

Pearce Wayne Norris, age 75, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at 9:50 a.m., from complications as a result of multiple system atrophy, a very rare neurogical disorder.

He was born to Buley Arter Norris and Bessie Mae (nee Dunaway) Norris on Sept. 15, 1933, in San Augustine, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Norris. They married on Nov. 17, 1984, in Volente, and enjoyed many years of traveling, dancing, and living life with each other in Volente and Leander.

He is also survived by his children, Debbie Ryan and husband Dewey, Diane Hunter and husband John, Dorothy Elder and husband Mitch, David Norris and wife Tammi, Glenn Helton, and Laurie Helton, and his grandchildren Heather Trexler, Joel Norris Hunter, Garrett Wayne Lacy, Mitchell Pearce Elder, Travis Wayne Norris, Margo Elder, and his great grandchildren, Madison and Kylie Trexler, Jay Hunter and Crissy Norris.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, July 30, at Gann Cemetery, with arrangements by Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin. He will be laid to rest with his parents, sisters and one brother.
