JACKS WHACK NAC
      The Diboll Lumberjacks met up for the first time ever last Friday night against the Nacogdoches Dragons and the result saw the hometown boys out last, out man and out play the opposition in a 30-14 final. The Jacks got off to a bit of a rough start on the night, but the Dragons just could not shake the confi- dence of Diboll.

Sam Rayburn Fishing Report
      Sam Rayburn is at 157.99 ft and starting to fall, the water temperature has been around 74 degrees. The water is clear to around 2 ft. Well, just as you think the water is stabilizing they started dropping it again. It's going down like a rock. Why you ask? They are trying to push the salt out of the river that hurricane Ike pushed in. The lake is around the 6.

Punt, Pass and Kick Champion
Thomas Lee
     Thomas Lee a sixth grader here in Diboll recently competed in the Pepsi NFL Punt, Pass, & Kick contest held in Lufkin this past weekend. He won the 10-11 yr. old age group and will advance to the regional competition in Longview on Oct. 25. If he wins there he will get to attend a Cowboys game where he will compete to be in the national contest held at an NFL playoff game.

Lady Jacks split week's action
      Last week the LadyJack volleyball team traveled to Center and defeated the Lady Rough Riders in convincing fashion 25-15; 25-16; 25- 22. This win moves the Lady Jacks to 2-0 in district play and 13-6 overall. The stats may not look all that impressive but that will happen when you are the far superior team.
