Dateline Diboll Diboll Gifted and Talented Nominations for placement in the Advanced Academic Services Gifted and Talented Program at Diboll ISD for students in grades kindergarten through 11 are now open until Dec. 12. Letters announcing the opening of nominations have been sent home with students. Tree of Light Celebrate Christmas by being part of the annual Tree of Light and Luminary Light Ceremony. The ceremony will take place in the Council Room of the Diboll City Hall on at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4. An inspirational program is planned. After the program is completed the lights on the Christmas tree and Luminaries located on the Diboll City Hall yard will be lit. The Pilot Club invites everyone to attend this beautiful ceremony. Great Plants for Shade Gardening Friends of Lufkin will host a free garden lecture by Bart Brechter. His lecture "Great Plants for Shade" will be at 7 p.m. presented Thursday, Nov. 6, in Room 102 of Lufkin City Hall, 300 E. Shepherd. Refreshments and a plant raffle follow the lecture. Lufkin Art Guild Meeting The Lufkin Art Guild will hold its monthly meeting in downtown Lufkin from 1- 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Charlie Becker's Art Gallery, 116 S. First Street. Leon Forney will be the featured artist demonstrating "Sculpture." Admittance is free and the public is welcome to join.
