Larry B. Bean Sr.

Funeral services for Larry B. Bean Sr., 68, of Lufkin, were held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Bean officiating. Graveside services followed in the Gregory Cemetery near Colmesneil.

He was born Oct. 31, 1939, in Hillister to the late Helen (Watkins) and Claude David Bean Sr. He died Sunday, Oct. 26, at his residence.

He had resided in the Hudson/Lufkin area for 17 years, and previously lived in Houston for 30 years. He was a machinist for Sonoco. He loved to spend his time with his family and grandbabies, and his smile will always be with us. His motto in life was "I'm pretty good." He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Lavelle Bean of Lufkin; son, Larry Bruce Bean Jr., of Splendora; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Gary Polk of Anacoco, La., and Rhonda and Eric Pruitt of Lufkin; grandchildren, Larry Bruce "Little Bruce" Bean Ill., Shelby Youngblood, Danyel Polk, Brittney Polk, Opal Polk, Victoria Pruitt and Alex Pruitt; brothers, David Bean of Alto and Dale Bean of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Rachael and R.J. Ankrom of Houston; sisters, Melba Waldroff of Kerrville and Cecil Southerland of Woodville; aunt and uncle, Ben and Lois Reppond of Rockland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Elmer Ward and Norvel Bean.

Pallbearers were Charles Wayne Ross, Bill Howard, Josh Bean, Russell Ankrom, Ricky Ankrom, Eugene Bean, Gary Polk and Eric Pruitt.
