Larue Hayes

Services for Larue Hayes, 76, of Lufkin were held Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Donna Jean Kirby officiating. Interment followed in the Gann Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 27, 1932, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of the late Opal Mae (Kennedy) and James Ervin Mayberry. She died Friday, Nov. 7, in a local hospital.

She was a loving and devoted mother, sister and grandmother, as well as a homemaker. She attended worship services by the Salvation Army while a resident of Parkwood Place Nursing Home.

Survivors include her son, Danny Hayes of Missouri; daughters, Patricia Jackson of Wells, Jonell Oliver of Lufkin and Janice Kay Palmer of Lufkin; sister, Jolene Hawkins of Kingsland; 12 grandchildren; and a number of greatgrandchildren and other family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Billie Jean Wright and Mary Alice Odom.
