     11 year old Logan Carter of Hudson killed this 9 point buck with a 14 1/2 inch spread from 200 yards with a .243 while hunting with his father at Carmona Hunting Club. He is the son of Chuck & Tjuana Carter of Hudson and the grandson of Jack & Sue Beaty of Diboll.

It's Showtime
Lumberjacks and Buckeyes to batt le in Class 3A opening round
      It is incredibly hard to believe it, but Friday night's game marked the end of the 2008 football regular season as the Diboll Lumberjacks traveled to Rusk for a battle with the Eagles. The contest marked the final game of Rusk's season, while it served more as a tune-up for the Lumberjacks as the home town favorites decimated the Eagles 66-19.

Nikki Greene to ink National Letter of Intent
      It was just a few weeks ago that the Diboll Lady Jack standout decided on her next step and the all important verbal commitment to the Penn State Lady Nittany Lions. Now the senior standout will make it official today when she signs hew National Letter of Intent at a special reception at Lumberjack Stadium. The event gets started at 4:30 p.m. sharp.

Lady Jacks season comes to a close in bi-district
      It was a tough season ending for the 2008 edition Diboll Lady Jacks Volleyball team with a loss in the opening round of the 2008 Class 3A playoffs. The Lady Jacks traveled to Tatum last Tuesday evening for a neutral site meeting between the District 18-3A second place representative, and the third place entry from Class 17-3A.
