Edsel Duane Shelton

Edsel Duane Shelton, 81, of Lufkin died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008 at his residence. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home.

He was born Feb. 22, 1927 in Wauneta, Neb., to the late Nellie (Kline) arid Curtis Shelton. A former resident of Groves, he had resided in Lufkin since 1993. He retired as master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Gideon's International, Lufkin West Camp, and Denman Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Jane Shelton; and two grandchildren.
