Bobby Forbes

SHREVEPORT, La. - Funeral Services for Bobby Forbes, 80, were held Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008 at Boone Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Elzine Strong of Diboll United Pentecostal Church and Mike Hudspeth of Kings Temple United Pentecostal Church of Shreveport officiated. Interment followed at Vivian Cemetery in Vivian, La.

He died Monday, Aug. 25. He was born Aug. 16, 1928, to James and Nora "Willie Mae" Parker Forbes. He served our country in the Army during the Korean War. He sang with the Army Choraliers while stationed in Germany, and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He was a member of the Life Tabernacle Church of Houston as well as the Diboll United Pentecostal Church. He was a talented characature artist and enjoyed the art of bread making. He was preceded in death by sister Tina Violet Forbes and his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Ruth Forbes; two sisters, Doris Faye Strong and husband, the Rev. Elzine of Diboll,and Betty Sue Murphy of Diboll, as well as nieces, Debra Buster and Regena Strong and nephew Larry Murphy, grandnephew Derek Buster and great nephew Avery Buster.
