Schoolhouse Christmas

Jaydon Sandford, 21 months, isn't real sure of this Santa fella. His parents are Kerri and Brandon, a DISD employee. Jaydon Sandford, 21 months, isn't real sure of this Santa fella. His parents are Kerri and Brandon, a DISD employee. Sarah Rios, administrative superintendent to superintendent, did such a good job describing the results of the DISD administration door-decorating contest that we are just letting her tell it:

The bus decorated by the Transportation Department was the big winner in the "outside category" decorating contest yesterday. Yes, we decided to put them in their own category since they won by a landslide!!! Kudos to them for such doing such a great job.

Winners in the "inside category" were:

Kevin Mathis - First (I don't know how many people he promised raises to for a vote, but I hope you realize when you've been scammed!)

Cassy Whitsitt - Second (this was the Christmas tree made from red feather boas....a true give away of her personality!)

Daniel Lopez - Third (This was the sympathy vote of the day since we do have some kind people in this community.. and Lopez really knows how to work 'em)

And.....tying for Honorable Mention were some decorations with a lot of class....the Superintendent's office area and Jana Jones' HR door. (Well, at least one was classy, the other was much like the door of a French boudoir, but pretty none the less.)

A big THANKS to all of you who came by and visited with us, ate with us, and voted for us. A special thanks to those who brought kids by to see Santa. Santa absolutely loved it! Thanks to the folks with Even Start who sang for us. It was a treat. Thanks to Charlie Havard who served as our election judge and Josh Mathis who assisted him in counting the votes. I've heard there may be a petition filed for a recount for certain voting improprieties. The Texas Rangers are on standby to do a full investigation.

Seriously, we had a huge turnout from employees and the community. 250 people signed in. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!
