Loyce Waley
Services for Loyce Wilkerson Waley, 82, of Diboll, were held Dec. 20, 2008, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with the Rev. Jimmy Hedges officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park under the direction of Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.
She was born July 21, 1926, in San Augustine County, the daughter of the late Joe and Bertha (Smith) Wilkerson. She died Wednesday, Dec. 17, in a local hospital.
She had resided in Diboll for 56 years. Her passions were quilting, crocheting, hunting, and fishing. But her major passion was cooking and keeping her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Diboll.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Billy McClendon of Lufkin; grandchildren, Craig McClendon and wife Leann, Sandy McClendon, Hollie Jo Glover and husband Joey, Lisa Kay Cook, Jaimee Loyce Ferrall and husband Ronnie, Michael Jay Waley; great-grandchildren, Morgan McClendon, Conner McClendon, Gerald Reedy, Stephanie and Kaylyn Cook, Josh Waley, Joanna Patten, Nathan, Brook and Benjamin Ferrall; sisters and brothers-inlaw, Clara and Jerry Breazeale and Alma and Billy Breazeale; brother and sister-in-law, Joe Jr. and Ella Wayne Wilkerson; brother-in-law
and sister-in-law, Charles and Jim Ada Waley; brother-inlaw, Joe Bridwell; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Waley was preceded in death by her husband, James "Steve" Waley; son, James Waley Jr.; grandson, James Lawrence Waley; and sisters, Maurine Bridwell, Ima Jean Anderson and Novis Rains.
